Selena Marie Gomez is her full name. Born on July 22 the 22nd of July, 1993 in Grand Prairie Texas. The parents of Selena are Amanda Cornett and Ricardo Gomez. The mother of Selena's, Amanda Cornett, was just 16 years old when Selena was conceived. She was nine when she got her first work as a showgirl by being offered the part as Gianna as Gianna in Barney and her Friends. This was when she became one of the kids who played with the most famous anthropomorphic purple dinosaur in history. Selena was involved in several episodes from season 7 and 8 between 2001 and 2003. As a fun fact: Selena isn't the only singer who worked in Barney as well as his Friends during this period; Demi Lovato also was part of the cast of the series. Selena Gomez had a few auditions for various films and shows after the end of Barney and Friends. Her auditions did not go well.
