Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire resides in a uninhabited area of Montreal Island, which is known as West Island. The West Island can be confusing for those who aren't familiar of its purpose. It is often believed that it's an island to the west of Montreal However, it's actually the West Island encompasses everything between the cities of Lachine and West. Amanda Brugel's birthplace is frequently mentioned, but her brief time in the city did not last long. Brugel grew in Courtice close to Oshawa. The first goal she had was to become a dancer, but a growth spurt led to her growing beyond her dance partner. According to an article in the Toronto Star, she revealed her height in heels as six feet and one inch tall. When I grew out of male companions at that point, I gave up. There are many dancers who make the move to acting. For the Brugel family, it was their drama instructor who pushed her in that direction. The teacher encouraged her to take part in an audition in a school production. She tried out and eventually got the lead of Anne of Green Gables. A Fine Arts Talent Scholarship led her to York University, where she completed her studies in Theatre and graduated with an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts in 2000. Brugel's career spans over 20 years and she's performed in more than 60 shows including big screen productions as well as smaller screens. Her most recognizable role was as Rita (pictured in the below photo) in the television show The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was only seen on a few occasions in the first season of The Handmaid's Tale. The only Canadian member.
